The Wall Street Journal reported Sept. 21 that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos pledged to donate $1 billion to global environmental action on Monday local time in US. The Bezos Earth Foundation said in a statement that $1 billion will be used for environmental efforts to protect 30 percent of planet's land and oceans by 2030 to prevent mass extinction.
Bezos reportedly announced in 2020 launch of $10 billion Bezos Earth Fund, which plans to allocate about $1 billion annually to climate and environmental protection over next decade.
